ABOUT BARRY
Barry Avery’s passion for design started at a young age, drawn to the creativity of art classes and an innate ability to bring spaces to life. Though he initially pursued Fine Arts in college, his path took a few turns before fully immersing himself in the world of interior design.
After moving to Madison, Barry worked in retail management before deciding to formalize his expertise. He enrolled at Madison Area Technical College, earning an Associate Degree in Interior Design, not to develop his aesthetic instincts—those came naturally—but to sharpen his technical skills, mastering CAD, Kitchen CAD, ADA codes and other industry tools.
He launched his first design business, Avery’s House & Home, from his basement, before taking the leap into a dedicated retail and studio space he then called Fontaine named after his maternal Grandmother.
Always striving for the ideal environment to serve his clientele, he relocated to Middleton Center, a premier mixed-use development where he had the opportunity to design his own studio build-out. For 15 years, he ran a thriving retail operation and design studio, crafting interiors that blended timeless elegance with modern sophistication.
With a deep understanding of space, materials, and the personal touch that makes a house a home, Barry brings a refined yet approachable design sensibility to every project. At Fontaine Home in Madison, Wiscon, he curates an ever-evolving collection of beautifully crafted pieces and bespoke design services, reflecting his commitment to creating spaces that are as inviting as they are inspiring and never losing sight of the clients that call these places “Home."
